Josh Stephens, Contemporary Worship Leader
Hey there, I’m Josh Stephens and I am the Contemporary Worship Leader here at Keith UMC. I’m a 21 year old college student at Tennessee Wesleyan College where I am a music education major, and when I’m not here or at school, I’m typically trying to catch up on sleep lol. I would say a bit about my hobbies and interests, but I’m one of the rare few who are blessed with the opportunity to do their hobby and favorite past time as a career. I am thankful each and every day that God has allowed me to do my favorite thing in the world here at Keith, and that’s making music for Him. I began playing the piano when I was 12 and have been consumed by music ever since, picking up other instruments as I went and playing in several bands and projects throughout high school and college. Since getting to college, earning my degree has proved to be a great challenge; I didn’t start learning to read music until I enrolled at TWC, and for anyone thinking about majoring in music, I would strongly advise you to learn to read music before you get to school lol. I greatly, greatly enjoy serving here at Keith and love the challenge in pursuing my college degree. But greater still than my love of school and my work is my love for God. I am eternally grateful to Him for all He’s done for me, and I could never begin to describe all that God has saved me from. God got me out of my mess of sin and gave me purpose, a life, a drive, peace, love, joy… I could never hope to describe how good He’s been to me with combinations of 26 letters that simply can’t wrap around the greatness that is God. And that’s why I sing- to let my gratitude and love for Him sound out from the very depths of my being, to tell Him He’s everything I’m not and He’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me. Know you’re welcome in any of our services at any time here at Keith, and I hope to see you soon. And if you make it in, please, come speak- don’t leave as soon as Jason says amen, we’d like to actually meet you!
